Not Your Father's Air Force IX

Air Force leaders issue holiday message

Posted 12/24/2010   Updated 12/24/2010

12/24/2010 - WASHINGTON (AFNS)  -- Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz and Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James Roy send the following holiday message to the Airmen of the U.S. Air Force:

As we celebrate the holidays, please take the opportunity to reflect on our many blessings as Americans, and to remember the people who most enrich our lives. We also should contemplate our broader aspirations that, given the many demands of very busy lives, we often neglect to consider throughout the year.

Also, especially while many remain engaged in combat operations across the globe, we are thankful for the men and women who have answered our nation's call, and selflessly serve to defend our country and preserve our precious liberty. Those who are spending this special time of the year away from friends, family and loved ones are particularly worthy of the deep and abiding respect of fellow Airmen and of a grateful nation. We look forward to their safe return home.

We also honor the quiet sacrifice of family members who sustain and bring great personal meaning to the service of their loved ones. Those of us with the good fortune to be able to celebrate the holidays at home amongst family and friends remember our deployed Airmen and their family members who miss them. We ask that you reach out to these families as well as our single Airmen, and in the spirit of giving and support that makes our Air Force so special, we ask that you welcome them into your holiday celebrations.

In all of the joyous ways that we celebrate this holiday season, we wish you and yours the very best during this special time, and throughout the new year.
Ahem.
Dear Mr. Donley, General Schwartz, and CMSAF Roy,

I would like to draw your attention to the following:

Please keep the above in mind when you issue your "holiday message" next year.

With respect and warm regards,
Buck Pennington, MSgt, USAF (Ret)

  1. Yes. Hold your breath and count to 100. Better yet, get a rope, hang it from a tree, put your head in the noose, and then jump and count to 100.

You will get a "Merry Christmas" right after they have a "Queer-American Week" and a "White History Month."

    Merry Winter Solstice

  2. Wait. I should hang myself coz USAF's leaders are ultra-PC? I don't fucking THINK so.

  3. I just think there are two kinds of Generals: 1) Prisoners, and 2) Take No Prisoners.

Sadly, LeMay was the last #2 General in the Air Force.

Here's a leaflet he dropped on Japan: "Unfortunately, bombs have no eyes. So, in accordance with America's humanitarian policies, the American Air Force, which does not wish to injure innocent people, now gives you warning to evacuate the cities named and save your lives."

A #1 General would have wrote: "Please don't hate us, but I was only ordered to drop these bombs."

  4. I hate the Happy Holidays greeting and spread Merry Christmas every where I go. If they want to have a Happy Quanza or Honnika, let them have it. Don't screw around with my Christmas.

  5. Politically Correct.
Just kind of makes you want to barf
everytime these weak sisters use it.

    Happy New Year, Buck.

  6. Anon: re: prisoners. Creating all those Type One generals is a function of all that institutionalized diversity crap. I'm convinced of that. And just a minor point: Robin Olds was a "take no prisoners" type, albeit only a one-star.

MUD: We're on the same page.

    Ed: Back atcha!

  7. It is what it is Buck, we live in a PC world, where even your own personal blog comes under attack (DADT Blog)! Hope you had a Merry Christmas my friend and a safe and Happy New Year!

  8. The #2 I live with can barely bring himself to utter the word "diversity" and spent last Wednesday evening battling with Elder Daughter -- in public, mind you -- over the consequences of doing away with DADT and catering to those who like to, um, vaccuum Richards. Oh, it was a pleasant evening , it was.

  9. Dale: yeah, you're right. But some of us will NEVER give up the ship.

Moogie: I'm thinkin' Pepper and I would get along quite well. I actually don't have anything against small-"D" diversity, as long as it's of the E Pluribus Unum kind. My beef rests entirely with Diversity, capitalized, and turned into some sort of frickin' theological quest. THAT's where **I** fall down.

  10. Not to give the French credit, or anything, but I like their saying: Joyeux Noël.

    My favorite christmas song:

  12. Mimi is the dark side of the moon to rock and roll, ha. I have to admit when she sings "tous le beau joujoux" that all my toys come to attention...

Hope that everyone had a wonderful "Merry Christmas" and that their happy holidays will only be federal holidays :-)

  13. Oh, I forgot to say, Mimi has always needed space panties (her ass is out of this world). Just watch the first minute of this as she walks on stage.

I'm actually in love with her sister Christiane, who I first saw in late 60's. They all look younger than me, even now... argh...

  14. MM has aged well, indeed. I don't think I've EVER heard another French woman roll her "r's" quite like that.

  15. ...R's...

Agree. I once thought of a skit, where the announcer takes the microphone from her, and then as she walks off stage - he pours all the slobber out of it, you know like half a quart...

    Hmm, maybe too juvenile...

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
