Yet Still Even More Cigar Art, Already

This is actually episode 21 of the ongoing series and we'll eventually get back to numbering these posts once we run out o' suitable modifiers.  In today's mail:

That's a box o' Oliva Serie O Habana Maduros in the torpedo size, if you're keeping score at home.  The box may look plain at first glance (it isn't) but it was the opening of this well-crafted beauty that amazed and mystified us.  Put another way, opening up this box o' beauties was the equivalent of an old reprobate's Christmas.  It's the little details... the stiff tissue liner, the shiny gold ribbon, and the interior cedar top piece... that all add up up to impressive packaging, yet again.  Art, in other words.

I think it's time to adjourn to the verandah with one of these puppies and a State Pen porter.  Dark begets dark.

  1. Neat box, and I hope the cigars are as good! :-)

  2. Yet ONCE AGAIN, when the H-E-L-L are you going to frame (and save) some of that "cigar art?" Some of the original "orange-crate art" labels are worth REAL MONEY!

    2. I appreciate the thought, but I'd have to live over a hundred years longer to realize any gain from this cigar art, Virgil. And my walls are fine, thank ya! ;-)

  3. I'd still rather have a pack of Lucky Strikes (non-filter), a bottle of scotch with a glass full of ice, sitting in a corner and watching the poie dancers as I try to win at Bingo... Bottoms-up! Yea, yea, the pole dancer, not the glass...

    1. Hmm, can't spell pole, and poie sounds kind of like I had too many...

    3. @ Skip: Full disclosure: I USED to take my scotch with a single ice cube but these days it's just a splash o' water. I suppose I could look the other way of someone used "artisanal" ice. Preferably from a glacier. ;-)

  4. I don't mind wet scotch. I also use ketchup on meat, so sue me :-)

  5. Ketchup on burgers? Yikes! I'm beginning to think you aren't my long-lost brother by a different Mother after all. The classic MUSTARD ONLY, mon frere ,along with pickles, onions, cheese, lettuce (slice of tomato optional) Now a "steak burger" (i.e., extra large burger served w.o. bun) is a different matter. Here mustard is a no go. Only Ketchup or, my preference, a liberal amount of teriyaki sauce, or A-1 sauce if former not avail.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
