In Honor o' the Day...
Quite a few o' my blog-buds are talking like pirates today, and some of those same few have even gone out and got a pirate name. Well. We shall NOT be left behind in this space, ergo:
Not a pirate, but I do have a porn name. You take your first pets name, add that to the street your parents lived on when you were born, or the first named street nearby.
Mine is Fluffy Stark. Pleased to meet ya fella :-)
Fluffy...I'm pleased to meet you, too (even though you were talking to Buck, I'm sure).
I actually did a post about your "Stripper Stage Name) in the way back. It is still one of my most visited posts. Really, it is (through Gooble Image searches BTW).
Hey, Fluffy. By your rules I would be Mustafa (Something), coz my first pet was a parakeet (Mustafa Pete) and I have NO idea what street my parents lived on... or even any nearby street... when I was born.
@Andy: How come YOU know my stripper/porn name and I DON'T?
Buck, NYUK! You're old, and your memory is not what it once was. (Or, the pain, and pain meds have dulled the razor).
Fortunately, we have blog archives to remind us of the good old days...back when blogging was cool. I'm sure that if you'll hit enough links back to further back posts, you'll find it. (Truth is, you started this whole thing...I mean, back when blogging was cool).
Damm The Twitter!
BTW...I have NOT taken the time to give you my appraisal of your beloved Irish. Mustafa, I am honestly impressed with your boys. I mean it. Come a long way in a short time, considering all the hurdles. I look for them to only lose against Stanford, and The Okies. They will play in a high profile Bowl Game, and will leapfrog about 20 years of the previous suck when it comes to recruiting.
Less Twitter, and more Failbook, IMHO. I got a helluva traffic bump today from a tweet by someone who linked my old post about AF ceremonial uniforms. Not exactly an Instalanche, but close.
As for the Beloved Irish -- I hear ya. I expected more of an incremental improvement this year, and they really surprised me. I also agree with you about the outcome of the Stanford and OU games... those guys are just too good. But I think the Stanford game just MIGHT be closer than people think, mainly coz we'll have Jesus on our side. ;-)
"...mainly coz we'll have Jesus on our side. ;-)...
Heh! Buck, I could get in to a loooooooooong comment here about how it used to be down here in Louisiana when some of the best of the best yearned to play for ND (We're a HEAVY Roman Catholic State). ND was down here all of the time, because some great talent was easy pickin'. One off the top of my head was Arnaz Battle that played over across The Red at Byrd High. LSU desperately wanted Arnaz back in the day...but the lure of ND made him kinda' just hold his nose when LSU came calling.
It was that way for tons of recruits all across the nation, too.
Lookit! A 2 loss season (yes, they will lose to Stanford), and a big bowl game is gonna revive that, and possibly make me eat my words about ND never being a national power again.
Captain Bess Vane Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!
Now wonder I got the one I did...
ReplyDelete...used the wrong name generator.
It's been fixed
The right tool for the right job... ;-)
DeleteDirty Harry Rackham, here...
ReplyDeleteAll I've got to say is, "Shut up! I'm sanding my left leg..."
