Tempest, teapot. Or, only in America. There's at least one thing the asshat Democrats who precipitated this ridiculousness didn't count on... and that's the flap would be very good for Chick-fil-A's business. That and an object lesson along the lines of "do you REALLY want these guys in charge?" I sure as Hell don't.
It is a distraction of course; keep the country talking about a man's personal beliefs that were coerced out of him and then promptly misquoted and we won't be paying attention to the man behind the curtain spending us into a hole from which we will never crawl out.
ReplyDeleteExcept that I don't think the American people are that gullible anymore. I hope.
Gullibility, like stupidity, knows no boundaries. Just check the polls for proof.

ReplyDeleteOT, but RUN, don't walk over to Kate @smalldeadanimals and click on the O Sweet Saint of San Andreas heading for some really juicy stuff about FaceBook.
Heh. I suppose it's SERIOUS schadenfreude, but I like it.
DeleteBe sure to read the commentary, too.
ReplyDeleteOur Chick-fil-a is in the hospital here in Duncan. Toby and I eat at the hospital lots since they have a great salad bar. We have never eaten at the CFA, but Wed. we thought we would eat there - not knowing that it was support CFA day. It was packed - no parking at all. We ate somewhere else and later found out the reason behind the busy business.
ReplyDeleteThey only use Christian chickens who've been boiled in holy water.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for the controversy. One: While our country does have a culture about it, one that necessarily smiles upon some values and frowns upon others, we as free citizens aren't supposed to be living in fear of being put on any kind of trial for those beliefs, be that trial criminal, civil, or merely having to do with politics. Two: Had the controversy not come about, I never would've tried CFA. Ever. What a loss that woulda been. Expanding horizons department. Expanding waistline, as well, but hey...
ReplyDeleteThree: I'll just come out and say it, democrats wanna end free speech. It's no more complexificated than that...and that effectively catapults this issue, from the bottom of the priority list, up toward the tippy-top. Yes, in an election year, people need to understand this.
Oh, another observation to make:
ReplyDeletePublic relations is what these assclowns are supposed to know how to DO. That's their one super-awesome-mega-talent, so it really says something when they squeeze the trigger on that and find they've got the barrel pointed the wrong way.
Their...ONE...thing!
