I can't say that I don't use f-bombs here and there, or other colorful language, but I hold with my Grandfather (who worked in a ship yard) who said it is the height of stupidity to use that language.
I think use of the f-bomb to the extent that this guy does removes the message and turns it into drivel.
A shame really. Though it seems since Lenny Bruce that using the F word has become common place.
Yeah, the creator of this vid overdid it on the f-bombs. But I knew... and know... more than a few young guys (old ones, too) who speak in this manner. It ain't unusual.
Wow, if you replace the f-bomb with the phrases 'global warming' or 'climate change,' you have every BBC documentary made on nature in the last 15 years. I think I prefer this version!
I love this series on Sunday nights and our Prof Cox and hated this Liverpool spoof, sorry. You all need to pay a visit to the British Isles if you think this F bomb thing was an issue! Since Goodfellas and Tarantino it's been the height of fashion to use it as punctuation by the "cool" wannabee an American gangsta generation.

ReplyDeleteI remember going to the beach with my parents once. I decided to make a sand-castle. It was beautiful, magestic even.
ReplyDeleteMy father came over to look at it and said "FUC*!" I ran for the water and my mother screamed "Drown you Bastar*! It's the only way out."
I built my sand-castle on their 6-pack of beer and bag of liverwurst and mustard sandwiches...
Heh. Now THAT'S the funniest story I've heard lately... goin' back at least a month!
ReplyDeleteAgreed on that Buck!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the show on Science Channel!
He got to go straight up in the English Electric Lightning to the edge of space.
That was quite amusing! I'm glad it was as short as it was though, I don't think it would hold it's comedic value for much longer than a few minutes.

ReplyDeleteHeh. "double rainbow guy" with a limited vocabulary and a British accent!
ReplyDeleteGlenn: I've never seen the show, but the spoof tickled me.
ReplyDeleteMatt: You're right... that stuff gets old after a bit.
Dan: Great point! I didn't think of it like that, but you're right.
Alison: Well, I can't please everyone all the time, I guess. ;-)
Moogie: That's a good take, too.
