No matter how you celebrate the arrival of 2008, please be safe. Get wild, get crazy, get insanely drunk, dance yer a$$ off...whatever. But if you do imbibe, get a taxi...or a designated driver. I wanna see your smiling face here throughout 2008, Gentle Reader.

Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteToby said the food in Scotland was too expensive; you have to bring your own Ramen Noodles.
Oh-ho-ho, you know it's gonna be a wild time here at Rat City tonight, old fart HQ of the southwest. There's a pretty good chance that you'll still be hearing from me tomorrow and henceforth. There, one down on your list of party-hearty concerns!
ReplyDeleteHope this new year is a good one for ya! (we survived another one, Buck!)
HAPPY NEW YEAR, BUCK!
ReplyDeleteHAHA....no wild party here, my hubby is in bed already, and one of my dogs is terrified of the fireworks here and is hiding in the bed under the blankets.
I am still up...pondering the new year. May it be a good one for all of us. For me I think it will be the year I FINALLY move to New Mexico! (And we get to vote in a new president!....)
yummmmmmo! Did somebody mention ramen noodles????
ReplyDeleteYour post today reminded me of the first time I drank a couple of "screwdrivers" in some bar in downtown Sendai. I had to also buy the "girl" a watered-down drink each time I got one. I thought maybe mine was also watered-way-down but then I had to pee and tried to stand up and fell flat on my adoubles.
ReplyDeleteYou are a very special person to me and I am thankful that I was able to find you in this endless sea of blogs.
Thanks for all of your visits to my blog in 2007 and I hope and pray you have excellent health and are very happy all the days of your life but especially in this new year 2008.
Happy New Year from Patty and me.
I love this cartoon!!
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be a long year!!!
Happy New Year, Buck! We imbibed safely - at home with friends. We made it to midnight - for the first time in about 8 years! Old farts indeed.
ReplyDelete2008 is going to go by in a blink, I believe. At least that's what I'm hoping for...
Lou: I'd much rather eat ramen than, say, haggis. (And I have tried it... once. Once is all you need.) Any progress with Halliburton, re: my ticket?
ReplyDeleteLin: My only worry where you and Mark were concerned would have been a late nite outing to the facilities...with all the attendant dangers. ;-)
Sharon: I'm thinking your 2008 will go very quickly...the move to NM will be upon you faster than you'd like, I suspect. And your dog is like mine...any hint of fireworks and she (all of 'em, actually) lit out for the bed!
Abe: Thank you very much for the kind words. Your Sendai blog is a real treasure, and I'm glad I found you, as well!
Cynthia: Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do for the troops. And a special thank you for the great card!
Kris: As I said on your blog: You celebrated in the best way possible! (IMHO)
And to all: Happy, Happy New Year!!
