... is here. (with apologies to Jon Stewart, and a hat tip to commenter PeterGunn at Lex's place.)
I'd more than likely achieve serenity with this head, though. ND is down 23 - 0 at the half. They were 21-point underdogs going in. It's gonna be worse, much worse, by the time this is all over (today's "all over," I mean). I don't believe I've seen a Div I-A team this bad in my entire life. Ever.
O, the sheer ignominy.
Update, 1310 hrs: Wonder of wonders: ND has pulled within seven (26 - 19), with eight minutes left in the fourth. It looks like they'll beat the spread, if nothing else. Jeez...hope does spring eternal!
Update, 1332 hrs: It was only hope: Purdue 33, ND 19. But ND did look better today. Small, very small, consolation.
At least Florida lost on a last second FG to Auburn....which after last season, any Gator loss is heartwarming to Buckeye fans....OSU 30 Minnesota 7
ReplyDelete5 of the top 10 lose though....
Florida, West Virginia, Rutgers, Texas and Oklamhoma...that should scramble the rankings.
If it's any consolation, my Texas Longhorns lost, too. LSU reamins on a roll, though.
ReplyDeleteThe only game I could get around here was South Carolina vs. Miss St. Things did not go well for Miss St. fans in that game.
Pat: The FLA -Auburn game was the best game I watched yesterday. Auburn's kicker had a frickin' BOX of "cool," eh? Making TWO 43-yard field goals, in The Swamp...with all that noise, WOW. I dunno why, but I strongly dislike ALL teams from Florida, especially Miami and FL State. And yeah, the rankings will be interesting, to say the least!
ReplyDeleteBecky: I watched the ND game, Wisconsin - MI State, and the aforementioned Auburn game...with a bit of USC - Washington thrown in, for good measure. It was a good day of football at El Casa Móvil De Pennington. The Texas game was on, too, but I didn't have a dog in that fight... Sorry about that!!
