What I Like About Texas...
Good friend Lori in La-La Land e-mailed the link to this oh-so-excellent video. I HAD to share it with all y'all. The only change I'd have made would have been to substitute Shiner for Lone Star...but that's a nit, ain't it? (BTW: wanna guess which Lone Star reference in the vid is my favorite?)
Gary P. Nunn is one of my favorites. He even spent some time in RR one summer - talk about some good dance music that summer. Lots of good times in that video, but like he says, we could be here all night. I kept thinking been there done that throughout the video. Hmm, lets see... which Lone Star beer picture did Buck like the best? That's a no-brainer.
Lou: I was pretty danged sure that was Gary P. Nunn singing, but was reluctant to so state. I've been wrong before. Gary is one of my favorites, too, specifically his cover of George Jones' "You Can't Get the Hell Out of Texas," which is simply a BRILLIANT song!
As for no-brainers...well, yep!
;-)
Buck: I caught the Menger reference the very first time through and thought "How VERY cool." The Menger Bar was my very favorite of all the watering holes we hit last year. Just something about it that really clicked, maybe it was the fact we were drinking whhere Teddy Roosevelt held court...I dunno. But The Menger is most definitely one of the cooler (if not the coolest) places I've been in the last few years.
And a Menger hotel reference!
ReplyDeleteGood stuff...he hits it at the end when he says we'd be here all night!
Can't wait to get an assignment there to become a resident!
