Being tempered by Lake Ponchatrain N.O. rarely gets in the >96 degree range for very long. Baton Rouge, further inland is just as humid in the summer but usually 4-5 degrees hotter on any given day. Same for rainfall. BR actually gets more; is second only to Seattle with an avg annual rainfall of 64in/yr. Wx patterns seemed to have changed, however. When I was in college BR had a relatively dry summer and a winter "monsoon season beginning in Dec thru Feb. N.O., by contrast, was dryer but had an afternoon 30 min monsoonal "shower" every afternoon like clockwork during the summer. Now those predictible daily pm showers are gone in N.O. in the summer but B.R gets tons of late afternoon thundedrstorms when the thermals heat up. Must be all those damn SUVs and Cow farts..."AGW" according to the eco-Stalinists..lol Right vnow it's 69 degrees in Marina del Rey. Gonna overtemp tomorrow at 71. lol.virgil xenophonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11491836830352263438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18232353.post-23986855684211370162012-08-03T14:32:26.513-06:002012-08-03T14:32:26.513-06:00My friend, the Junk Diva, always says you should m...My friend, the Junk Diva, always says you should marry a needy man.
