I also agree with Morgan, Casino Royale was good and worth the watching. Most of the Bond movies were meant to be a bit silly - lots of tits and ass - it was a sign of the times. But, having bought & cherished & repeatedly watched each and every single Bond movie, including the Sony monstrosity Never Say Never Again, I have two words for you: Casino Royale. I understand your objections fully, I see the logic in them, you are not alone in them, and I am fairly confident you will enjoy this. In terms of the pie-in-the-sky "fantasy" factor for little kids, this is at the opposite end of the scale from that silly childhood fable Moonraker, below From Russia With Love. They were really listening to people like you when they made this. In addition, it is without a doubt the most faithful to its corresponding original-book counterpart, than any other Bond film ever made. Go on, sink your 135 minutes into it, you'll be glad you did.
mkfreeberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13265933747192068934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18232353.post-27610644393596049382012-11-04T14:55:55.079-07:002012-11-04T14:55:55.079-07:00Bond movie =/= strip clubs.

Further reflection (and a lil googling) indicates I prolly saw Dr. No, Goldfinger and Thunderball, the last o' which was prolly when I gave up on Bond... see "suspension o' disbelief," above. But Sean was magnificent in those flicks. Speaking of Connery... there's this from The Wiki's bio:

In July 2005, it was reported that he had decided to retire from film-making, following disillusionment with the "idiots now making films in Hollywood" and the turmoil making the 2003 film.

A man after my own heart.Buckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05319116022465066060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18232353.post-43586648935629820022012-11-03T15:34:34.443-06:002012-11-03T15:34:34.443-06:00Well, at least Hillary added something of value to...Well, at least Hillary added something of value to the fabric of our lives in her pitiful life.

The only Bond movie I remember seeing in full was "The Spy Who Loved Me."
