Which is to say the freakin' wind. WeatherUnderground sez it's clear or "mostly cloudy" outside but it is NOT; the blowing dust has reduced visibility to the point where I cannot see 18th Street across the vacant lot outside my window at times. It's simply fugly outside. I don't think we'll be goin' anywhere today.
At least it's not snowing.
At least it's not snowing.
"At least it's not snowing."
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot to be said for that
At least it's not snowing.
ReplyDeleteYup. Tell me about it. Got home very late on Friday night from a week in FLA to 3 inches of snow; by the time we woke up on Saturday morning it was snowing again, with 6 more inches by the time it stopped.
Welcome home indeed.
Ivan: I KNOW.
ReplyDeleteKris: But you LOVE New England, right? ;-)
Buck, when I got off work at 1430 HRS, my iPhone app told me it was 81 F in Bossier City. Crazy for 1/22, but not unheard of.
ReplyDeleteThe wind is at 18 from WSW, gusting to 25. Severe storms forecast for tonight...hail & a few tornadoes.
...And, that's what I like about the South!...
Heh! WV: bleak
No need to 'splain that one!
When I was driving back from sown south yesterday afternoon I was admiring that all of the snow was in the hills and mountains, where it belongs, and not down here where the ground is more flat.
ReplyDelete(I was gonna say flatter ground but the dictionary says flatter means sucking up and it's not nearly wet enough for that yet... but it is raining once again)
We are getting some serious wind here today. It is dusty here - thank God, we don't have your sand or it would be really bad.
ReplyDeleteBuck - yes I do. Even now with nearly 10 inches of snow on the ground, temps in the teens and thoughts of where we were just one week ago ... yup, love New England.
ReplyDeleteEspecially since my beloved Patriots just won the game that will bring them to the Super Bowl.
We have the dreaded "wintry mix" here today. Means freezing rain and drizzle transitioning into snow at night. Also means dreading the morning drive into work. This is why I hate living in Iowa.
ReplyDeleteAndy: No storms here, Thank The Deity At Hand. Unless you consider 50 mph winds and dust to be storms. Wait...
ReplyDeleteSkip: Yup... snow belongs in the mountains. Or on teevee.
Lou: It was REALLY bad here for a while. It calmed down by mid-afternoon, though. I managed to have an outdoor Happy Hour.
Kris: Well... Good On Those Pats.
Red: I hear ya. I HATED that term... still do... whenever I heard it coz it meant a miserable drive.
