A friend who's involved in a vets forum as an admin wrote me off line:
I'm still laughing about that help desk video, especially in light of my recent forays into forum administration. I didn't want to write in your comments about how this relates to the numerous e-mails I get every day, lest anyone see it and know I'm laughing at them. A few people, I just want to scream "You're too stupid to use the forum, you better quit now!" LOL!
I replied to the effect of "ain't it too bad you can't laugh at people who REALLY need to be laughed at!!!"
This is one of the funniest things I've seen lately. And no, Lou, it ain't meant for you (I think)
My friend, Janice, works at a computer software company that writes programs for government agencies including payroll type software. Janice does tech support for the company. She said people call them when their balance sheets do not balance. She laughed and said that although they try to help people, it is not a software problem; it is a people problem.

Oh, the Help Desk stories I could tell (but won't)!! I think about 60% (or more) of the calls are well and truly "people problems," and that may be a gross underestimation...
ROFL!
ReplyDeleteWas that video meant for me? It was perfect - made me lol.

ReplyDeleteI didn't get to see it! By the time I got home, it had been removed. Too bad...
ReplyDeleteWow, that is too bad, Becky. I wonder why it was removed? Copyright violation, one presumes. And that sucks, coz it was funny!
